Review: Warts Removal Treatment at Let's Face It (Market! Market!)

Last Saturday, I've summoned the courage to get my warts removed. I finally walk-in at Let's Face It and decided to get it over with.

I only have flat warts and one skin tag on my face which are barely visible but I just feared that things might get worse so I decided to have them removed.

Just an FYI. Let's Face It used electrocauterization for this procedure, in other words they burn the affected area with electricity. It is a safe procedure and routinely used for surgery.

THE PRICE

Its Php 435.00 per 25 pcs of warts.

THE PROCEDURE

1. Waiver Signing
Before starting the treatment I was asked to sign a waiver. The waiver had five bullets, it contained the side effect which you cannot hold them liable for and that you haven't taken Reaccutane (I'm not sure if that's it and what's the side effects so you could do your research on that). I urge you to read this first since it is just short and it's your face after all.

2. Counting of warts plus estimation on price
After the esthetician who was going to remove my warts estimated the number of warts to be removed (I had a 100+ warts including the once in my chest and neck. So thats more than Php 1000.00)

3. Facial (*optional)
The esthetician asked me if I wanted a facial since its gonna be a few days before I can wash my face again, but I decline and just washed my own face instead, since I was wearing make up.

4. Application of topical anesthesia on warts
So first the girl applied a topical anesthesia on the warts, then covered them with scotch tape.
Then I was left there for maybe 30 minutes or more. I am not sure since I wasn't able to look much around me since I had scotch tape on my eyes too. So yes since my eyes were closed I almost drifted to sleep.

5. Electrocauterization of the warts
Then the girl came back then finally cauterized the warts. I couldn't feel much at all because of the topical anesthesia, it actually just felt like pin pricks. Aside from that sensation I could also smell the burning of skin. There were a number of warts which really hurt, I guess the anesthesia didn't take effect on them but the pain is bearable.

THE AFTER LOOK

So after the procedure I ended up looking like I had chicken pox.

AFTER THE ANESTHESIA WORE OFF

The anesthesia wore off after a couple of minutes and yes, it stung! I have a low pain tolerance so my eyes were a bit watery during this time. But the pain was gone after 30 minutes or so.

TIPS

Before going for the treatment:

• Call their office if you want to and ask all the questions you want before going there
• Consider the date you'll be having your warts removed, seriously you wouldn't want to go out with the appearance like you had chicken pox plus the healing cream they'll give you will look like skin peeling off once its dry
• Don't wear heavy make-up
• Read the waiver that they'll ask you to sign
• Get a facial if you want since you won't be washing your face for 2-3 days after the treament
• If you plan on getting some warts above your chest removed and would like to avoid additional hassle, wear a top that already exposes this or has an opening in front.

During the treatment

• Ask the one doing the procedure about all the worries you have and all the questions you want answered, after all its your face we're talking about here

After the treatment

• Apply the healing cream as per instructions
• DO NOT I cannot emphasize this more peel the scabs off, or you'll get scars and worse it could get infected
• DO NOT wet the parts which had the treatment for 2-3 days because the water could them infected, and it'll have pus coming out of them
• I would advice you not to apply anything on your face that would need rubbing etc such as make-up or scrubs until all/most of the scabs are gone
• They will feel itchy but don't scratch them or the scabs might come off
• Do not look so much at the mirror this will just tempt you to pick on the scabs or the dried healing cream that looks like peeling skin

So the result of my treatment?

Day 1-3

Feeling icky because my hair is so oily can't take a decent bath yet. Aside from that the medicin

Day 4

Finally a decent bath! :D
After getting the scabs wet 3-4 fell on its own.

UPDATE:

Scabs gone

There is actually minimal scarring. The scars are not that noticeable unless I really stare at it. The scars are lighter than my actual skin color.

After a while

I noticed that my skin looks better, the scars are gone. Not even visible even if I stare at it. :)
